# Petrora > Texas Railroad Commission oil and gas data, cleaned and joined, with a stable page for every well, operator, and permit. Every page is citable. Data is public record; Petrora is not affiliated with the RRC. Petrora covers drilling permits since 1966, wellbores, completions, lease production, operators (P-5), formation tops, UIC disposal and injection permits with reported volumes, and TexNet seismicity. Figures from lagging sources are labeled with the period they are reported through; nothing is estimated or extrapolated. ## Entity pages Addresses are type first, then state. Sections scoped to the Texas regulator carry a `tx` segment (`/counties/tx/reeves`, `/operators/tx/217012`, `/permits/tx/918112`); wells, formations, basins, cross-section, and maps do not, because their identifiers or extents are not state-bound. The same shape applies to the API (`/v1/data/operators/tx/217012`). - [Well by API number](https://petrora.com/wells/4233734003): `https://petrora.com/wells/{10-digit API}` (state code 42, county code, unique number); the 8-digit RRC form and the dashed 42-XXX-XXXXX form redirect to it. Permits, completions, chain of custody, production, formation tops, casing, perforations, injection, seismicity. - [Cross-section](https://petrora.com/cross-section): `https://petrora.com/cross-section?apis={api,api,...}`; up to eight wells' formation tops side by side, subsea-aligned where elevations are filed. - [Operator](https://petrora.com/operators/tx/217012): `https://petrora.com/operators/tx/{RRC operator number}`; P-5 details, cumulative production, recent permits by county. Reads are public with no key; CSV downloads and the watchlist routes take a bearer token from a free account. Import it as actions or tools. - [Interactive reference](https://api.petrora.com/v1/docs): the same document rendered with a try-it client. - [API reference](https://petrora.com/guides/api-reference): how to use the API; identifiers (API numbers, operator numbers, lease ids), permit windows on the first-seen date, production by lease, lags. - Base URL `https://api.petrora.com/v1/data/...`; every entity row carries its page `url`, which is the thing to cite. - [Connect your AI](https://petrora.com/connect): remote MCP server at https://mcp.petrora.com/mcp (OAuth sign-in or an account API key as bearer; 28 read-only tools, one per API read), in beta, testers on request; an account's free trial covers the connector and the API, which needs a key as a bearer token. ## Getting started (one page per step) - [Create an account](https://petrora.com/start/create-an-account): Sign up with an email address or a Google account, in about a minute. What the account unlocks now, what it will unlock next, and what it costs during the beta. - [Explore the data](https://petrora.com/start/explore-the-data): A map of what Petrora holds and where it lives: wells, permits, counties, operators, formations, leases, produced water, and earthquakes, with how to find any of them and what each page tells you. - [Read a well page](https://petrora.com/start/read-a-well-page): What each section of a Petrora well page means, which source it comes from, and how to tell current facts from historical ones. - [Follow an operator](https://petrora.com/start/follow-an-operator): Find an operator, read their activity over the last 90 days, and see where they are permitting. - [Track permits in a county](https://petrora.com/start/track-permits): Watch new drilling permits in a county as they appear, understand the seen and issued dates, and read the permit rows. - [Connect your AI](https://petrora.com/start/connect-your-ai): Add Petrora to Claude, ChatGPT, or another assistant so it answers Texas well questions with live data and cites the page. What the connector is, why you would want it, and how it works. - [Use the API](https://petrora.com/start/use-the-api): Make your first requests to the Petrora data API, follow the links from one record to the next, and find the interactive reference where every endpoint, parameter, and field is listed. - [Say hello](https://petrora.com/start/say-hello): How to send feedback, report a wrong record, ask for a state or a data source, or talk about working together.
