Privacy Policy

Petrora ("we", "us") provides analytics on public oil & gas regulatory data at petrora.com. This policy describes what personal information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

  • Account information. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from your Google account. We use this solely to create and identify your account and to communicate with you about the service. We do not access any other Google data.
  • Usage analytics. We use PostHog to collect information about how the site is used — pages visited, features used, and general device and browser information. This helps us understand what to improve.
  • Correspondence. If you email us, we keep the email so we can respond.

How we use information

We use the information above to operate the service, authenticate you, respond to your messages, and improve the product. We do not sell your personal information, we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing, and we do not use it for advertising.

Google user data

Our use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Google account information (name, email, profile picture) is used only for sign-in and account identification. It is never sold, never used for advertising, and never transferred to third parties except as needed to operate the service.

Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies and browser storage to keep you signed in and to support the analytics described above. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; core pages will still work, but sign-in will not.

Service providers

We rely on a small number of service providers to run the site — hosting infrastructure and PostHog for analytics. They process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.

Data retention and deletion

We keep account information for as long as your account exists. To delete your account and associated personal data, email [email protected] and we will remove it.

Security

Data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored on access-controlled infrastructure. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

Children

The service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we will update this page and revise the date at the top.
