Where the water goes: permitted injection capacity, reported volumes by county and operator, and the Permian deep-disposal wells that report daily. How disposal is reported →Every active disposal well on the map →

Texas operators reported 10.7 billion barrels of injected water on H-10 filings in the twelve months through June 2025, up 1% on the year before.

42,054 injection and disposal wells hold active UIC permits, with 247 million barrels a day of permitted capacity between them.

The Permian deep-disposal wells that report daily to TexNet injected 5.1 million barrels a day in August 2026, across 721 wells and 95 operators. Same-well volumes were up 8% on a year earlier.

Loving County took the most water, 1.3 billion barrels over the H-10 year, ahead of Reeves.

NGL Water Solutions Permian, LLC reported the largest volume of any operator, 617 million barrels across 5 counties.

The RRC issued 165 drilling permits tagged as produced-water disposal in the last year, 22% more than the year before.

H-10 FILINGS · TEN YEARS TO JUN 2025 · 39,030 WELLS REPORTING

H-10s are annual filings on staggered well anniversaries, so the latest months are always incomplete. The series ends at the last month whose filings are at least 90% complete against a year earlier, and nothing after it is shown.

Permian deep disposal, reported daily

Operators of deep disposal wells in the seismic response areas report daily volumes to TexNet. It covers a few hundred wells, not the state, but it runs about a year ahead of H-10. Figures are for Aug 2026, the last settled calendar month; the feed itself runs through Nov 1, 2026.

Who injects the most

Operators by reported H-10 volume over the settled year, against the year before.

What the permits are for

UIC permits by purpose: W-14 disposal, H-1 enhanced recovery, and the rest. Active means activated, not cancelled, not plugged.

Disposal (W-14)
4,760 active of 16,780
Enhanced recovery (H-1)
35,602 active of 87,172
Other injection
1,692 active of 22,699

Most permitted injection in Texas is enhanced recovery in old fields. Disposal is the smaller, faster-growing share, and it is where the capacity and the earthquakes are.

New disposal permits, by year

W-14 permits by the date on the permit. The current year is partial.
