Petrora is a small team building in the open, and most of what gets built next comes from what people write in. One address, [email protected], reaches a person who reads every message.
Things worth writing about
- Something is wrong. A well with the wrong operator, a formation name that did not normalize, a county figure that does not match what you know. Include the page URL. Corrections are checked against the Commission's own files and fixed at the source, so the fix lands on every page that uses the record. Report a record.
- Something is missing. A record type, a filter, a figure you keep computing by hand. Say what you would do with it. Ask for a feature.
- Another state. Texas is first. New Mexico is next because its Permian wells share operators, formations, and water with West Texas; after that the order is set by requests. Name the state and the records you rely on. Request a state.
- The beta. The connector for Claude, ChatGPT, and Copilot and the API are live on a free trial that starts when you connect; scheduled briefs are next. Tell us the counties or operators you follow and what you asked first. Connect your AI.
- Working together. Data partnerships, integrations, research, or a use of the data that needs a conversation rather than an API key. Get in touch.
- Just hello. What you do, what you were looking for, whether you found it. The short notes are the most useful ones.
What happens to a message
Feedback goes on the roadmap when it changes the order of things, and the roadmap page says so. Data corrections are usually fixed within a few days. Everything gets a reply.
Where else to look first
- Guides answer the questions people ask most about how the records work.
- How current the data is explains the lag on every source, which is the usual reason a figure looks wrong.
- The API reference documents every endpoint and field.
