Well history
WRITTEN BY THE NORWEGIAN OFFSHORE DIRECTORATE
General
Well 25/11-22 was drilled east of the Grane Field to test the hydrocarbon potential of the AQ prospect. Primary target was a prognosed 23 m thick Heimdal sand body within the Lista Formation shale. The trap was estimated as a stratigraphic pinch out of the sand.
Operations and results
Exploration well 25/11-22 was spudded with the semi-submersible installation "West Vanguard" on 7 January 1998 and drilled to a total depth of 1805 m, 31m into the Tor Formation. The well was drilled with seawater and bentonite down to 1249 m and with "ANCO 2000" mud from 1249 m to TD. No sand was detected. No hydrocarbons were detected. A total of 5 cores were cut from 1686 m to 1771 m in claystones in the Sele, Lista, and Våle Formations. The recovery varied from 20% to 99.7%. No fluid samples were taken. The well was permanently abandoned as a dry well on 24 January 1998.
Testing
No drill stem test was performed.

About this data
Norwegian Offshore Directorate (Sodir) FactPages, mirrored nightly and used under the Norwegian Licence for Open Government Data (NLOD). Depths are metres along the wellbore from the kelly bushing unless a row gives its own unit; older cores are filed in feet. A zero the Directorate files for an unmeasured pressure, density, or temperature is shown as a dash.
