Well history

WRITTEN BY THE NORWEGIAN OFFSHORE DIRECTORATE

General

Well 6406/1-3 R2 is a re-entry of 6406/1-3 R. The well bore was initially drilled with the rig Ocean Vanguard, but was terminated and suspended due to anchor failure. Due to the incident Ocean Vanguard was taken to harbour for repairs and the rig Transocean Arctic was hired in to secure the well. Securing of the well included pulling out the 8 1/2" BHA left in the hole, setting of a cement plug from TD to 3839 m and installing an EZSV packer at 996 m. The well bore was again suspended on 6 February 2005. Final plug and abandon operations were to be done with the Ocean Vanguard. The only objective of the re-entry was plug and abandonment.

About this data

Norwegian Offshore Directorate (Sodir) FactPages, mirrored nightly and used under the Norwegian Licence for Open Government Data (NLOD). Depths are metres along the wellbore from the kelly bushing unless a row gives its own unit; older cores are filed in feet. A zero the Directorate files for an unmeasured pressure, density, or temperature is shown as a dash.
