Well history
WRITTEN BY THE NORWEGIAN OFFSHORE DIRECTORATE
General
Well 35/6-1 S was drilled on the Måløy Slope in the Northern North Sea, in the block just north of the Gjøa field and the 35/9-3 Discovery. The main objectives were to prove hydrocarbons in the Early Cretaceous Gross prospect and the Late Cretaceous Silius prospect.
Operations and results
Wildcat well 35/6-1 S was spudded with the semi-submersible installation Ocean Vanguard on 4 February 2009 and drilled to TD at 847 m in the late Paleocene Sele Formation. The well was drilled with seawater and hi-vis pills.
A shallow water flow from under the guide base was noted and operations on the well were suspended on 9 February 2009. The flow was observed while a new well was drilled from a location 30 m to the south.
No cores were cut and no wire line fluid samples were taken.
The well was plugged and permanently abandoned on 4 April 2009 as a dry well.
Testing
No drill stem test was performed.

About this data
Norwegian Offshore Directorate (Sodir) FactPages, mirrored nightly and used under the Norwegian Licence for Open Government Data (NLOD). Depths are metres along the wellbore from the kelly bushing unless a row gives its own unit; older cores are filed in feet. A zero the Directorate files for an unmeasured pressure, density, or temperature is shown as a dash.
