Well history
WRITTEN BY THE NORWEGIAN OFFSHORE DIRECTORATE
General
Well 35/12-7 was drilled to test the Serin prospect on the Ryggsteinen Ridge in the North Sea. The Serin prospect is down-thrown from the 35/12-2 Grosbeak Discovery. The primary objective was to prove commercial hydrocarbon volumes in Middle Oxfordian and Bathonian aged turbidites.
Operations and results
Wildcat well 35/12-7 was spudded with the semi-submersible installation Transocean Arctic on 1 July 2018 and drilled to TD at 2750 m in the Middle Jurassic Oseberg Formation. Operations proceeded without significant problems. The well was drilled with seawater and bentonite sweeps down to 448 m, with KCl/polymer/GEM mud from 448 m to 1001 m, and with Innovert oil-based mud from 1001 m to TD.
The well only encountered one Oxfordian turbidite, at 2048 to 2055 m. No Bathonian turbidites were encountered. The Oxfordian turbidite as well as all other sandstone formations present in the well were water-bearing. No shows are reported from the well.
No cores were cut. No fluid sample was taken.
The well was permanently abandoned on 25 July as a dry well.
Testing
No drill stem test was performed.

About this data
Norwegian Offshore Directorate (Sodir) FactPages, mirrored nightly and used under the Norwegian Licence for Open Government Data (NLOD). Depths are metres along the wellbore from the kelly bushing unless a row gives its own unit; older cores are filed in feet. A zero the Directorate files for an unmeasured pressure, density, or temperature is shown as a dash.
