Well history

WRITTEN BY THE NORWEGIAN OFFSHORE DIRECTORATE

General

Well 25/2-20 was drilled to test the shallow Liatårnet Prospect east in the Fensal Sub-basin east of the Frigg Field in the North Sea. The primary objective was to prove hydrocarbons in the Early Miocene Skade Formation.

Operations and results

Wildcat well 25/2-20 was spudded with the semi-submersible installation Deepsea Stavanger on 29 June 2019. While drilling at 663 m the drill string became irretrievably stuck, and the well was abandoned. The well was drilled with seawater all through.

The well objective was not achieved.

No cores were cut. No fluid sample was taken.

The well was permanently abandoned on 1 July 2019 as a junk well. A re-spud was initiated some 25m east as well 25/2-21

Testing

No drill stem test was performed.

About this data

Norwegian Offshore Directorate (Sodir) FactPages, mirrored nightly and used under the Norwegian Licence for Open Government Data (NLOD). Depths are metres along the wellbore from the kelly bushing unless a row gives its own unit; older cores are filed in feet. A zero the Directorate files for an unmeasured pressure, density, or temperature is shown as a dash.
