Well history
WRITTEN BY THE NORWEGIAN OFFSHORE DIRECTORATE
General
Well bore 25/8-20 C King is a side-track from 25/8-20 B King wellbore, which discovered oil and gas in Eocene injectites. The objective of 25/8-20 C King was to evaluate the regional extension of Eocene injectites and to define gas-oil and/or oil-water contacts within the injectites.
Operations and results
Appraisal well 25/8-20 C was kicked off from a milled window in the 9 5/8" casing from 110 to 1115 m in well bore 25/8-20 B on 29 May 2021. The well was drilled with the semi-submersible installation Scarabeo 8 to TD at 2060 m (1914.5 m TVD) in the Late Paleocene Sele Formation. The well down to 1020 m is vertical. From 1020 m the well path deviation is between ca 20°and 42°. Drilling proceeded without significant problems. The well was drilled with Rheguard Prime oil-based mud from kick-off to TD.
Based on CPI log and pressure data well 25/8-20 C encountered a gas column of about 40 metres and an oil column of about 55 metres in the target injectite sands, where about 35 metres was massive sandstone with extremely good reservoir quality. The gas/oil contact and free water level were encountered at 1879.5 (1760.7 m TVD) and 1945.6 m (1816.4 m TVD) respectively, the same depths as in 25/8-20 B. There are no oil show descriptions from the well.
No cores were cut. No fluid sample was taken.
The well was permanently abandoned on 13 June 2021 as an oil and gas appraisal well.
Testing
No drill stem test was performed.

About this data
Norwegian Offshore Directorate (Sodir) FactPages, mirrored nightly and used under the Norwegian Licence for Open Government Data (NLOD). Depths are metres along the wellbore from the kelly bushing unless a row gives its own unit; older cores are filed in feet. A zero the Directorate files for an unmeasured pressure, density, or temperature is shown as a dash.
