Well history
WRITTEN BY THE NORWEGIAN OFFSHORE DIRECTORATE
General
Well 6507/8-11 S Othello North, drilled by Equinor, is a wildcat well located on the Halten-D nna Terrace, Norwegian Sea, approximately 10km north of the Heidrun field and 7km South of the Slagugle discovery. The primary exploration target was to prove commercial hydrocarbons in Lower Jurassic and Triassic reservoir rocks in the re Formation and Grey Beds within the Othello North structure.
Operations and Results
The well was spudded with the semi-submersible drilling rig Deepsea Stavanger on 24 October 2022 and drilled to TD at 2522.3m TVD in the Triassic Red Beds. The well encountered channelized sandstones of the Lower re Formation and the Grey beds, deposited from the east in fluvial to shoreface depositional environments. No hydrocarbons were encountered, and the well was classified as dry with shows after sampling water.
Testing
No drill stem test was performed.

About this data
Norwegian Offshore Directorate (Sodir) FactPages, mirrored nightly and used under the Norwegian Licence for Open Government Data (NLOD). Depths are metres along the wellbore from the kelly bushing unless a row gives its own unit; older cores are filed in feet. A zero the Directorate files for an unmeasured pressure, density, or temperature is shown as a dash.
