Well history
WRITTEN BY THE NORWEGIAN OFFSHORE DIRECTORATE
General
Well 6305/5-C-3 H, drilled by A/S Norske Shell, is a wildcat well located in the Ormen Lange area. The objective of the well was to prove petroleum in reservoir rocks in the Lange and the Lysing Formation in the Upper Cretaceous (Turonian and Coniacian ages, respectively).
Operations and results
The well was spudded with the semi-submersible rig Transocean Barents on February 18th 2022 and drilled to TD at 4319.7 m TVDSS in rocks of Turonian age in the Shetland Group. The well encountered mainly siltstone with thin layers of sandstone and dolomite stringers in both formations. The formations have low permeability and are partly tight. No hydrocarbons were encountered in the well. The well is classified as dry.
Testing
No drill stem test was performed.

About this data
Norwegian Offshore Directorate (Sodir) FactPages, mirrored nightly and used under the Norwegian Licence for Open Government Data (NLOD). Depths are metres along the wellbore from the kelly bushing unless a row gives its own unit; older cores are filed in feet. A zero the Directorate files for an unmeasured pressure, density, or temperature is shown as a dash.
