Well history
WRITTEN BY THE NORWEGIAN OFFSHORE DIRECTORATE
General
Well 25/10-14 S was drilled on the Utsira High west of the Balder Field in the North Sea. The primary objective was to prove petroleum in the Paleocene Ty formation (Havfrue prospect). The secondary objective was to prove petroleum in the Early Jurassic Statfjord Group (Fomle prospect).
Operations and results
The 25/10-14 S well was spudded with the semi-submersible installation Borgland Dolphin on 19 December 2015. It was drilled directionally from a kick-off point at circa 550 m MD to a total depth of 2474 m (2377.6 m TVD) in the Triassic Hegre Group. It was drilled with an S profile of build, hold, and drop back from a maximum of 30° to almost vertical above both reservoir targets. The well was drilled with seawater and hi-vis sweeps down to 1104 m and with XP-07 oil based mud from 1104 m to TD.
The well encountered a 22-metre thick sandstone layer in the Ty formation and 63 metre of sandstone in the Statfjord group, both of which showed good reservoir properties. The well is dry. No oil shows were seen and gas readings were low.
No cores were cut. No fluid sample was taken.
The well was permanently abandoned on 17 January 2016 as a dry well.
Testing
No drill stem test was performed.

About this data
Norwegian Offshore Directorate (Sodir) FactPages, mirrored nightly and used under the Norwegian Licence for Open Government Data (NLOD). Depths are metres along the wellbore from the kelly bushing unless a row gives its own unit; older cores are filed in feet. A zero the Directorate files for an unmeasured pressure, density, or temperature is shown as a dash.
