Well history

WRITTEN BY THE NORWEGIAN OFFSHORE DIRECTORATE

General

Well 35/11-25 S was drilled to test the Apodida prospect on the Lomre Terrace, North of the Troll Field in the North Sea. The primary objective of well 35/11-25 S was to prove petroleum in Late Jurassic Sandstones.

Operations and results

Wildcat well 35/11-25 S was spudded with the semi-submersible installation DeepSea Atlantic on 29 April 2021 and drilled to TD at 3187 m (2884.4 m TVD) m in the Late Jurassic Heather Formation. Drilling started with a 9 7/8" pilot hole down to 758 m to check for shallow gas or water. There was no shallow gas or water flow. The main well was drilled horizontal down to ca 1600 m and deviated to a sail angle of ca 40 to TD. Operations proceeded without significant problems. The well was drilled with seawater and hi-vis pills down to 762 m, with CarboSea oil-based mud from 762 m to 2811.5 m, and with Syn Tec oil-based mud from 2811.5 m to TD.

Well 35/11-25 S encountered about 65 metres of intra-Heather Formation sandstone (Sognefjord Formation equivalent) of good to very good reservoir quality. The well was dry all through. There were no shows described in the cuttings. Sandstone cuttings were examined, but no indications of hydrocarbon shows were observed.

No cores were cut. No wireline logging or fluid sampling was performed.

The well was plugged back for side-tracking and abandoned on 14 May 2021 as a dry well.

Testing

No drill stem test was performed.

About this data

Norwegian Offshore Directorate (Sodir) FactPages, mirrored nightly and used under the Norwegian Licence for Open Government Data (NLOD). Depths are metres along the wellbore from the kelly bushing unless a row gives its own unit; older cores are filed in feet. A zero the Directorate files for an unmeasured pressure, density, or temperature is shown as a dash.
